Own a piece of time honoured living tradition made by master artisans in Kütahya.
Colour and texture made this artistic piece find its way into my shop.
This is fine Turkish artistry – a hand-painted vintage Kütahya ceramic plate, crafted in one of Turkey’s oldest ceramic centres. This piece showcases the iconic Ottoman floral motifs of tulips, carnations, saz leaves (serrated edges) outlined in fine black detail and finished with raised slip trailing across a luminous turquoise glaze. Delicious. The craftsmanship is unmistakably traditional with every single dot, swirl, and brushstroke applied by hand, giving the plate depth, texture, and unmistakable Turkish soul.
Dating from the 1970s–1990s, this plate shows gentle wear consistent with its age, including small scuffs to the textured glaze and rim taking this piece out of the collectors price range and into decorative. The vibrant 26 cm plate represents the classic revival period of Kütahya workshops, when artisans reinterpreted centuries-old İznik patterns for contemporary collectors. The subtle glaze crazing, the saturated pigments, and the intricate border work all reflect authentic mid–late 20th century ceramic production. A beautiful display piece for shelves, walls, or tabletops full of possession, movement, nature, and cultural heritage.
